Tough Guy tries to open Jar
1) Tough, muscular guy places hamburger and jar of pickles on counter in kitchen
2) Dainty wife sits on couch in living room reading magazine
3) Tough guy struggles to open jar
4) Tough guy tries to blow up jar with rocket launcher
5) Wife rolls eys and continues reading
6) Wife gets up and "pop" opens the jar.
7) Guy slowly eats sandwich

Haha...I like how the dainty wife rolls her eyes and just opens it, very good idea. I think he should try more than just trying to blow it up though. Maybe he tries to hit the lid with a weight or he tries to squeeze it open with his arm muscles, anything creative and funny. Also, are your characters people or different species? I think if they were people it'd be a lot harder to animate, especially with the lack of time. Other than that you have a good mindmap about what you want to do and I think it'll be funny when everything is finished.
I like the idea behind this story. Just by reading your 7 sentence version, I have a clear picture of what's happening and what the characters look like (at least in my mind). I see the main character as a Mr. Incredible type. I agree with Anne that the guy should try different things to open the jar than just a rocket. If you do use human characters, are the movements going to be as close to real-life as possible? Or are they going to be exaggerated in some way? How are the characters going to be dressed? I think the clothing for these two can change the story a lot. I think you've got a great start and a potentially very funny animation. I almost feel like I've seen this story before though... so be careful with the cliches.
I as well enjoy the irony at the end but my biggest concern is that the dainty wife doesn't play much of a roll and doesn't really conflict with the other character. What if the muscular dude this dainty wife and he is trying impress her with opening the jar by several means and she loses interest but he keeps on getting her attention by trying to open this jar all around the room trying to open the jar different ways and she is ignoring him by playing a hard to get game and then at the end hes exhausted and can't open it and he is laying on the ground...she walks up and then opens the jar with no complication.
